Sickle Cell Disease:
Sickle Cell Disease (Sickle Cell Anemia) is a disease affecting the red blood cells in the bloodstream. People's red blood cells become 'sickle' shaped causing them to be unable to carry enough oxygen to the rest of the body. This causes 'sickle' red blood cells to decrease their flexibility and clog small blood vessels and arteries causing sufferers to feel pain in the chest or joints.
